Wednesday Walks (Summer programme May to August)

The starting point is mailed to members a few days ahead of the event date.
All walks start at 7.30pm (prompt) unless otherwise stated

Wednesday Indoor Meetings (September to April)

  • We meet promptly at 8pm. Ground floor, in the room to the left of the staircase
  • Admission is £1 (includes complimentary tea or coffee) unless otherwise announced.
  • After the meeting we visit a nearby public house.
Sunday Walks (plus occasional Thursday and Saturday Walks)

Unless otherwise stated in the listing: we DEPART Sunday 09.30 am; Thursday 10.00 am, from either
the Hazel Grove Park and Ride, behind the Rising Sun pub (HG) OR from on-road parking at 
Piccadilly, Stockport town centre (P).  Petrol costs may be shared from the Car Park.

Pub Nights
We have an informal gathering most Friday nights in a local pub. Meet from 8.30pm. Stockport's "Foody Friday" events start at 6pm & we sometimes gather from 7pm for food before going to the named pub.

Other Activities are arranged from time to time and will be published on the website and in the programme.
These may include: 
Theatre trips, Meals, Barbecues, Cinema visits, Walking, Cycling and Skiing Holidays

Everyone taking part in Group activities does so at their own risk.
        • The Group will not be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss occurring as a result of any Group event or in connection with travel to such event, however caused. 
        • Members attending are reminded that outdoor activities frequently need specialist equipment (boots, waterproofs, etc) and the group does not provide these. 
        • Should you attend an event and, in the opinion of the leader, pose a risk to the safety of yourself or the group, then you will be politely turned away. (For example: being ill-equipped for the terrain and weather conditions)
        • Please contact the leader in advance if you are unsure what will be appropriate for the event. 
        • Accompanied children under 18 are welcome but please check with the walk leader beforehand to ensure that the terrain and distance are suitable.
