Guidelines for people organising group weekends

We try to have at least one weekend away per month and there is space on the programme for more this year.
  • If you would like to organise a weekend away for the group staying in accommodation or camping and would like any help then contact the Hostel/Weekend Co-ordinator.
  • The club can pay any deposits from group funds - contact the Treasurer.
  • You can borrow the Independent or YHA hostel guide books from the Hostel/Weekend Co-ordinator.
  • When you organise a weekend try to find a leader for at least the first days walk and let people know some details. These can be published in advance via email - just send details to the group email account.
  • Well before the weekend, email a list of those booked so that car sharing can be arranged.
  • If necessary advise people what they need to bring with them, for example sleeping bags and pillow cases may need to be taken to an independent hostel. New members may not realise that they need to bring food for meals and packed lunches.
  • Check the guidelines about member refunds on the club website.
  • All people attending a group weekend must have paid the membership subscription for the current year. If in doubt please check with the Membership Secretary.
